No good excuse for being away so long! Just lazy I guess.... but here we go-
Here's what we have been up to lately! (My instagram update.... with some more words than usual to make up for my lack of blogging)-
Breakfast. I have one of these every day that I have fresh spinach (I buy the big box of organic spinach from Sam's Club). It's ice, half a banana, low fat vanilla almond milk, sometimes 1/2 tbsp of peanut butter, and two handfuls of spinach. Or, instead of a banana and ice, I add about a cup of frozen fruit (I buy the huge bag from Walmart)
The girls got an Angelina Ballerina game for Christmas. There are about 2 dozen cards with different ballet positions/moves on them. Abby lays them all out on the floor and does them all for me in a dance sequence. She's getting pretty good!
Still getting to bed too late.... but I've gotten better ever since Garrett had to start leaving for work around 6:45 every day. He tries to go to bed around 10:30 now, so I do the same.
She likes to dress herself..........

Checking the mail.... our neighborhood has these mailboxes every quarter mile or so, instead of mailboxes in front of every house. Didn't even notice until after we bought the house. Kind of strange but typical in the neighborhoods around here.
Things are going great. We are staying really busy, and trying to soak in all this glorious weather until it gets too hot to be outside (hopefully we have a few more months).
I've been going running 3-4 times a week with a friend of mine. We probably look like quite the group as we run down the street with two double strollers, and sometimes one or two kids ahead of us on bikes. I really hate running with a double stroller, but it's great for my running time. I went running alone a couple Saturdays ago (no stroller) and my first mile was 60 seconds faster than my old time used to be (back when I was running before without a stroller). So that was pretty exciting.
In other fun news, we're heading to Savannah in a couple weeks, but not to stay. We're dropping the kids off, then heading to the Gulf coast with some of our best friends for a long weekend! Definitely looking forward to some kid-free fun, like laying out on the beach and reading a book and taking a nap. And hopefully eating lots of sushi and other delicious food.
Garrett just finished a brutal rotation last month.... so thankful that's over! He was on call for the entire last week, meaning that when he was done with his normal 7am-5pm hours, he was on call from 5pm until 7am. Potentially, he could have worked all night if they called him in, then worked a normal full day and then been on call another full night (possibly working all night again). And over and over again, for 7 days. He was pretty nervous about it. Thankfully, he got really lucky. He got called in all day Saturday and Sunday, but only had to work until 1 or 2 am twice during the week, so he still got enough sleep to function during his normal daytime hours. I'm so thankful that week's over, but he's already dreading when he has to do it again in June. Oh, and he was also exposed to radiation all day every day. Not much fun.
Can't complain, though. Life is great and things are going just fine. And like I said earlier, we are keeping very busy... we started our garden, I am working on my first re-upholstery project (will share pics when it's done), and the girls and I have discovered a lot of new local parks lately. Oh, and my sister-in-law is about to have TWINS so I am waiting (im)patiently for them to arrive! Can't wait to see pictures of those little cuties.
Hope you all are doing great!
