101 in 1001: 1-22

First of all, I did some editing of last night's post, so if you read it last night before midnight you might want to go back and read it again.  Basically I just added a "101 things" website link, and I also said that I'd list just a few things each day until I get to 101 things (rather than committing myself to 25 each day this week).  I'd like to take my time and make a well-thought-out list.

I am already getting excited about this project - I love getting things done, love feeling like I accomplished something, but I often feel like I don't know where to start so things get left undone.  This will be great motivation for me.

And, you guys......... I just noticed something AWESOME!  If I start this project next Saturday (July 23), I will be completing it on April 19, 2014.... which just happens to be the day I will turn the big 3-0!  Nice.

First, some guidelines:
Tasks must be specific (no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or defined.  Goals must be doable and must require some action on my part.

Start date: July 23, 2011
End date: April 19, 2014

Let's get started:

1. Establish a better flossing routine
2. Go to a UF football game
3. Donate blood
4. Plan something awesome for Garrett's 30th birthday (June 2012)
5. Take the girls to Disney World
6. DIY backsplash in the kitchen (white subway tiles)
7. Make this beautiful pink birthday cake
8. Start (and keep up with) memory books/journals for my kids (probably in private-blog form, and they can be printed and bound into books every couple of years)
9. Attend a reunion with our dinner group friends from med school
10. Plant a successful garden with at least 8 different plants
11. Take the girls to a UF gymnastics meet
12. Buy a piece of original art
13. Scan pictures from my grandparents' slideshow (pics of my dad and his siblings growing up) and make the pictures accessible for all of the Siebach family (discs, or online, or something)
14. Family history project - work on it with my grandparents
15. Run a race or attend an event that benefits Parkinson's disease
16. Make artisan bread and deliver it to 5 people for no real reason
17. Give up soda for good
18. Make matching dresses for the girls
19. Have a fondue night
20. Learn to french braid Abby's hair
21. Read "Gone with the Wind"
22. Make a rack of lamb for dinner

More tomorrow!
