Tennis, Moe's, the Cougars, October

 Playing tennis :: Evening walk
Popsicles :: Moe's Mondays
Petting farm :: Making pizza
Our family tree :: Go Cougars

 Not too much is happening.  It's still hot here - too hot to go outside some days!  So, we are spending lots of time coloring, playing play-doh, playing "school", etc... anything to keep us indoors while we're not at the pool.

We have been spending some evenings playing tennis, which has been really fun.  Garrett bought a racket for me and a youth racket for Abby, and we walk down to the court here in our neighborhood.  I am horrible at tennis but I'd like to get good enough to play for fun with Garrett.  Garrett also would like Abby to learn to play, so he's been spending some time teaching her how to swing and hit the ball.  Ellie is our "ball girl" and collects all the tennis balls from the edges and corners of the court for us.

We still do "Moe's Monday", which is a tradition that we started in Newport News.  This year, though, we just get takeout since we usually don't eat until a bit later.  Moe's is a burrito place that we started going to every Monday since it is $5 for a burrito, chips, and drink.  Last year, Garrett always brought me Subway from the hospital (I got extremely ill from eating at a Moe's in Augusta two years ago, and have never eaten their food since).  This year I just make Mexican at home for myself and the girls (I just like the company!).  We sure miss the Egberts this year, though!

In preschool last week, Abby was told to bring some headshots of her family so that she could make a family tree.  Above you'll see her finished product... haha.  I guess she didn't really understand the concept but I love how she put herself front and center, with the rest of us underneath the tree.

And of course, we are cheering on our BYU Cougars.  It's been a painful season so far.... reminiscent of my own time as a student there.  Hopefully things will turn around soon!  I feel bad for all the freshmen who had high hopes for exciting home football games like I did.  Of course, the games are always exciting, but it's so much better when we win!

We have some fun times ahead for October!  My mom comes tomorrow and will be here for almost a week, so Garrett took Monday and Tuesday off work.  Later this month we're spending a long weekend in Charleston, and then at the end of the month we'll be in Savannah for Garrett's little bro's baptism.  Lots of road trips... should be fun!

We've been trying to start a Moe's Monday here, but we just can't find anyone really committed to a weekly tradition yet :(
