Charleston, Part 2

On Saturday, we went into downtown Charleston and spent some time at a park by the water.  There was a pretty pavilion in the middle of the park, so of course the girls had to dance in their pretty little skirts we bought at the outlets.

Ellie's a natural:

The three girls, reunited.  Ellie, Adeline, and Abby (Adeline and Abby even had matching shirts!).  Ellie & Adeline are only 2 weeks apart, and it's always fun to see them play together.

Sisters:

It might be hard to see here, but Rob is running after Adeline, who was heading for the pile of cannons, or the road, or the water... who knows where she would have stopped!

More dancing:

Ellie was also chasing squirrels, a favorite pastime...

Ring around the rosies:

Abby.... she looks so old!  I can't believe I have a "kid".  You know what I mean... she's not a baby, not a toddler... she's a full-blown kid.  And she will be starting school next year... so weird.

And finally, we took the opportunity to take some family pictures while we were there.  Rob is a really good photographer, so I wanted to get a nice picture to hang in our house.  I have been planning for weeks to do family pictures in Charleston, but for some reason, when it came to packing up on Thursday, it didn't cross my mind to pack nice, coordinating clothes!  I really don't know what I was thinking.  I didn't even bring a nice shirt except for what I wore to Church, and Garrett didn't bring anything except tees (and his white dress shirt for Church).  Likewise, I didn't bring anything particularly nice for the girls.  So, I was pretty disappointed in myself.... at first.  Then, Garrett reminded me of the benefits of photoshop.  He ended up wearing his navy BYU tee, and just photoshopped it to make it look like a solid navy shirt.  Ellie was wearing a green shirt, but Garrett turned it grey so it would coordinate a bit better with the rest of us.  I threw on jeans to offset the "fancy" Church top (those are real jeans, not photoshopped in ;).

There are a couple other things that kind of bug me and I wish I would have planned ahead a bit better, but I realize that I'm more critical of this photo than anyone else will ever be.  It's a great picture, and we do plan to have it framed in our home somewhere. Here are some others that I also thought were cute.... unedited for now (if they look strange, click on the pic to see it full size.  They look better):

I love Abby's face in this one:

And we were nearing the end on this one, as you can see... the girls are looking pretty worn out.  I guess the mini-marshmallows that we bribing them with started to lose their appeal:

And finally, the couple shots... I plan to frame one of these to put on my nightstand:

Thanks, Rob, for the great pictures, and thanks to Rob & Haley for the awesome weekend.  Hopefully we can meet up again sometime in the next few months!
