We stopped in Savannah Thursday night, spending the evening with Garrett's parents and the siblings who live in town. The kids ran wild until around 11pm, and we stayed up until 1:30 debating evolution (Garrett took some classes at BYU that have shaped his opinion). It was a good time.
On Friday, we were up bright and early and headed to Charleston. It was a quick 2 hour drive - we couldn't believe how easy it was. The drive really seemed much shorter than that even, which was awesome.
Garrett wore his fishing clothes in the car. Ever since he found out that Rob got a boat, he's been counting down the days until this trip, and he was eager to get out on the water.
I don't want to make this post too wordy, so I'll just share some pics from my ipod. Tomorrow I'll share the good pics from Garrett's camera:
Day 1: Red fish. SO DELICIOUS. Really, really good. It doesn't get much better than eating fish that was alive an hour before it gets to your plate. Rob also caught a flounder the next day, which was pretty tasty but not as good as these:
Driving around.. we spent a lot of time in the car traveling around to see the sites.
Downtown Charleston:
We spent an afternoon at the beach:
Haley and I took home some gallons of water from the beach and made sea salt! It was pretty good.
Shrimp!!:
Turned into coconut shrimp:
We stopped on Savannah on our way home, too, and spent a few hours playing. Garrett taught his mom how to throw her shrimp net from the neighborhood dock:
The girls watching "Angelina Ballerina" with their favorite Aunt Kate:
I guess I didn't get as many ipod pics as I thought.... more tomorrow (from the real camera)!
